Senior Accountant

POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Palm Beach County Tax Collector’s office has an immediate vacancy for an experienced accounting professional with at least two years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business  Administration or a closely related field, hands-on experience with accounting functions, at least two years of supervisory experience, and strong desire to mentor and develop a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Participation in the selection, direction and development of staff to include Accountant, Buyer, and seasoned professionals assigned to payroll, A/P and other core accounting functions.
• Completion of detailed account reconciliations, financial reports, month-end and year-end closing processes and accounting procedures. Supervise the reporting and property tax distributions

We work full-time hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm at our Downtown, West Palm Beach office. We offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, generous paid time off and participation in the Florida Retirement System.
